Forest School Education

Forest School is a unique philosophy and approach to outdoor play and learning. It involves using the environment and natural resources as a setting and stimulus for learning. Forest School practitioners use teaching and learning strategies that aim to promote confidence, independence, empathy, social skills and self-esteem.

At Stockton Heath Primary School, we value this approach to learning so much, that we have faciliated one of our members of staff to become a forest school leader. Mrs Realff, holds the Level 3 Practitioner's award for Forest School Education.

As a result of this, we have now been able to offer an in-house Forest school education for all our EYFS, Y1 and Y2 pupils. In addition, to this through our extra-curricular provision, access is also facilitated for Key Stage 2 pupils.
