Dan Harding
I am proud to be part of such a dedicated, hard-working and enthusiastic governing body.
During my career, I have been a teacher governor in 3 contextually different schools in 3 different local authorities and have therefore gained a wealth of knowledge and experience of governance and learned what a fascinating aspect of school management and leadership it is.
I live in Warrington and am committed to improving my own local community in whatever way I can.
Besides primary education, I have 4 other passions - my family, music, Manchester United Football Club and sport in general (I am married with 2 children, sing and play guitar in a rock band and have a season ticket at Old Trafford).
Gill Travis
I have been a teacher at SHPS for almost 7 years now, having taught for more than 20 years in other schools. I am looking forward to the challenges that the role of staff governor will bring. In this role, I hope to be an effective representative for all members of staff and would wish to bring an informed and experienced point of view to the many challenges facing the governing body.
From a spare time perspective, having a 10 year old daughter leads to the usual taxi service and homework support! We like to spend time as a family doing lots of different activities but we are all passionate about Formula 1 racing.
Michael Lang
I joined the Governing Body, firstly as a Parent Governor, before being co-opted in 2015.
I have two children at the school and find being a Governor an interesting, worthwhile and rewarding experience and a great opportunity to learn more about the school and become involved in supporting the school, staff, parents and children.
My background is in IT, working with software developers, analysing data and planning changes where required.
I enjoy the role of Governor and am committed to supporting the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team and staff in their aim of fully realising the potential of all the children at Stockton Heath Primary.
Outside of work, I coach Warrington Town Jr U11’s football team as well as supporting Manchester United.
In my spare time, I am a personal chauffeur, private chef and PA to my children.
Lynne Cook
I became a governor in January 2015, after my youngest started in EYFS and volunteering in the school itself. Being a governor is a worthwhile and rewarding experience, especially at such a fantastic school.
I work part time as a solicitor specialising in commercial property and hope to bring some of my knowledge to assist with issues affecting the school.
In any spare time not taken up by my children, I enjoy reading, sewing and drinking cups of tea with my friends.
Lisa Turner
I am an experienced primary school teacher and currently work as a lead specialist Teacher of the Deaf for a neighbouring local authority. I hope that my knowledge and experience in primary education will help to support the school and all pupils. I am from Warrington and am looking forward to being able to play an active role in the school and local community!
In my spare time, I enjoy baking and taking long walks.

I am delighted to join the governing body at Stockton Heath Primary School as a parent governor. Having lived in the area for over thirty years, I am very familiar with the community and the contribution the school makes towards it. Now I am in the position of seeing the enjoyment my own child is experiencing in school, and this has given me an insight into how successful and ambitious the school is for our children. As a teacher with experience of working in different primary schools, I look forward to contributing towards the future success of the school and supporting everybody in shaping its future.
Aside my education, my time is spent with my family, as well as playing golf and the piano and watching football, snooker and cricket.
Joanna Hancock
I've worked in health and social care for over 20 years, and am currently Head of Services for a third sector organisation supporting people with mental health, and physical and learning disabilities. I'm excited to have been co-opted to the governing body, and I'm really looking forward to being able to play an active part in my local community. I hope that I can use my knowledge and experience to contribute to the further development of the school.
In my spare time I love travelling, designing and baking novelty cakes, and having fun with my nieces.

I have been appointed a co-opted governor in October 22. I have two daughters currently at the school so I am keen to contribute and help the school.
I am a qualified accountant currently working as Head of Performance combining financial and data analytics within the renewable sector.
Outside of work when I am not playing taxi for my girls I am a keen Rugby league fan and a season ticket holder at Warrington Wolves.
Salma Margerison
After living internationally for 15 years, 2022 was the year we returned home, this time with three children. As a primary teacher, I was unsure what I wanted to do, but I knew it involved education. I started tutoring primary-aged children and then established a holiday club. With my children settled in Year 8, Year 6 and Reception, I wanted to give something back to the school that helped us settle the children into a home they had never lived in before and then a Parent Governor role became available. I am looking forward to contributing to the future successes of Stockton Heath Primary School in my new role. I love cooking and baking, and being as self-sufficient as possible is important to us as a family. Growing our own food and trying out new recipes is how I like to spend my time when I am not studying for a Masters in Psychology.
